The “Geospatial Information Technology (GIT) in Fragile Contexts” online course, developed under the scope of this project, has now reached more than 1,000 participants on the UNITAR platform alone.

Taking into account statistics from the World Bank Open Learning Campus we count more than 1,300 people who signed up to take the course. Registered users come from 106 different countries including states affected by fragility such as Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Myanmar, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestine, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Uganda, Venezuela and Yemen.

On this occasion the online course was slightly updated to enhance its presentation and accessibility. It is still free and open to anyone who wishes to know more about the use of GIT in fragile countries. It is organized in a short introductory format designed to convey essential concepts with great utility. You can access it here (also available in French and Arabic).
